HC-One’s Silverwood care home, which is located in Beeston, Nottingham, looks after a number of residents living with dementia, as well as offering nursing and residential care services.

The delicious array of cakes and other baked goods was provided by residents, team members and residents’ loved ones. The bake sale raised just under £150 for Dementia UK.

Deputy Home Manager of Silverwood Care Home, Rebecca Mellard, said:

“It’s worth putting on a few extra pounds for a good cause! The cakes were delicious, and the Wellbeing team here at Silverwood worked tirelessly to get this event organised. Everyone enjoyed it, and it raised £150 for charity as well, which is fantastic.

“Around 60% of our residents’ experience dementia, so we really wanted to do something extra to help support those who are struggling with the condition.”
