Keenan Recycling provides food waste collection services for businesses across the UK, using our own vehicles. With the use of high-end technology, we make the most of any food waste by taking it to anaerobic digestion plants, where it is converted into biogas that can be used for electricity, heat or even biofuel for transport.
Why Recycle your food waste?
Proposed legislation from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Environmental Act 2021 is fast approaching. It is likely to be introduced in Wales in April 2024, with England soon after. In Scotland, it has been a legal requirement, since 2016 to recycle your food waste if you generate more than 5 kg.
By recycling food waste, you reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill, therefore reducing your overall general waste costs.
