Our response:

In October and November 2020, 4 engagement events were held with the provider sector to discuss fee uplifts for 2021/22.  Following Cabinet’s decision in principle to the recommendations, a consulation process was undertaken with the residential and nursing home sector, see attached letter and questionnaire (Cost of care 2021/22 - Norfolk County Council). The consulation period ran from 22 January through to 18th February 2021.  Out of the 188 organisations sent the consultation letter, 23 providers completed the questionnaire and 2 submitted emails.  All comments received were incorporated into the report to James Bullion Executive Director.  All providers who responded to the questionnaire were written to going through the points that they had made and the actions that the Council would be taking to address.  The majority of concens raised were about covid related costs and how these would be funded going forward.  There are two provider engagment events, on 16th and 21st April 2021 “Understanding the long term impact of Covid on providers' operations and costs”.  The outputs from this work will be fed into the cost of care review that is to be undertaken during 2020/21 to inform the usual price for 2022/23.
