Stow Healthcare is a family run business which launched in 2010 with one home.  In the last decade, Stow Healthcare has grown steadily to become a well known presence in East Anglia, with homes in Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk. The company specialises in turning around failed residential and nursing homes and as of 2019 has achieved three Outstanding ratings from its five care homes. Stow Healthcare has won numerous regional and national awards and was named Residential Care Provider of the Year at the 2018 Laing Buisson awards amongst other notable accolades.

A family concern, committed to loving care

Stow Healthcare is a family of care homes owned and managed by brother and sister Roger Catchpole and Ruth French. Fittingly, a focus on ‘family’ drives the way we run our residential homes, nursing homes and memory centres which are dedicated to dementia care.

Our extended family includes our loyal band of managers, carers, nurses, chefs, housekeepers and handy people, our residents, their relatives and our professional healthcare partners across Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. This family bond, the basis of high-quality care in characterful homes, has led to our string of awards, including ‘Care Group of the Year’ in the National Care Awards.

Awards, of course, are not everything. We’re proud that every one of our homes is rated ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission and we receive regular referrals from residents’ relatives, local GPs and other respected professionals.

Visitors often remark that our properties resemble boutique hotels, rather than care homes, as they are located in unique buildings in beautiful surroundings. At each one, our carefully prepared cuisine is as welcoming as our accommodation. Whether residents come to us for respite care or long-term care, they enjoy the highest standards of service from suitably qualified carers and nurses.
